Outcomes of embolization of bone tumors in the pelvic and shoulder girdles: Initial experience
ConclusionPreoperative embolization is useful in reduction of intraoperative blood loss in tumors at shoulder and pelvic girdles. The technique is considered curative method in inaccessible lesions of pelvic and shoulder girdles with multiple interlacing vascular anastomosis. Accuracy and safety of CO2 digital subtraction angiography during endovascular treatment of symptomatic peripheral artery occlusive disease. A prospective study on Egyptian patients
ConclusionCO2 DSA is a non-nephrotoxic alternative to traditional ICM DSA that could be safely used and well tolerated during endovascular management of lower extremity symptomatic arterial disease. When selectively delivered to the femoropopliteal segment, CO2 provides superior quality images that would cancel or markedly reduce the ICM volume required for prompt visualization and decision making during the revascularization procedure. Ultrasound guided versus fluroscopic guided pulsed radiofrequency therapy of the stellate ganglion in neuropathic pain: A prospective controlled comparative study
ConclusionPulsed R.F. blockade of the stellate ganglion in patients with refractory neuropathic pain syndromes can be done safely and efficiently under the guidance of either ultrasound or fluoroscopy. Both radiological techniques provide similar satisfactory guidance without significant complications. (Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine)

Segmental hypoplasia of liver: The importance of radiologic recognition and reporting despite masterly inactivity
We report a case of segmental hypoplasia of posterior segments of right lobe of liver found incidentally on contrast enhanced CT (CECT) abdomen done to determine the cause of sub acute intestinal obstruction in a young adult male patient. Postoperative imaging of living donor liver transplantation complications
ConclusionThe different radiological modalities are a cornerstone in the success of the liver transplantation operation together with curious postoperative follow up are the key for diagnosis of most of the complications including vascular, biliary and collections and even rejection cases. COPD-bronchiectasis overlap syndrome: Are there clinical, physiological and radiological synergistic effects?
Conclusion: The overlap between COPD and bronchiectasis did not significantly impair physiological parameters or HRQOL in comparison to either disease alone. (Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine)

Cardiac metastasis from squamous cell lung carcinoma – An uncommon presentation
Publication date: March 2018Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Volume 49, Issue 1Author(s): Mohd Ilyas, Fahad Shafi, Naseer ChohAbstractCardiac metastasis represent an uncommon entity which may present with symptoms mimicking myocardial infarction. The present case highlights a case of cardiac metastasis from a lung carcinoma with the typical appearances on computed tomography and MR imaging. MDCT assessment of recurrent cholesteatoma
Conclusions: Bony erosions in post mastoidectomy status, representing the clinical interest prior to revision surgery may be attributed to the previous cholesteatoma or surgery and not necessarily due to more aggressive behavior of RC. Computed tomography scanner census and adult head dose in Nigeria
ConclusionComputed tomography scanners distinctly located in Nigeria were 183. The first installation in the country was in 1987, suggestive of an annual average of 6 installations. Dose from different facilities showed wide variations. The establishment of national diagnostic reference levels (nDRLs) to reduce arbitrariness in dose administration is imperative. While this is awaited, radiographers have a moral and ethical obligation to pay more attention to optimization of patient protection. (Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine)

Ruptured arteriovenous malformation secondary to placental site trophoblastic tumor: A diagnostic dilemma and its successful management
We report a very rare case of PSTT presenting as massive hemoperitoneum caused by rupture of secondary arteriovenous malformation. MR angiogram revealed the presence of arteriovenous malformation and the diagnosis of the neoplasm was confirmed on histopathology and immunohistochemistry. Hysterectomy was done and the patient was managed successfully. (Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine)
