Correlations between the audiological evaluation and cognitive screening in elderly
Conclusion: there was no association between hearing loss and cognitive decline in the elderly population studied. However, the analyzes of the speech recognition and cognitive performance indicate that the presence of alterations in speech recognition increases the chance of cognitive impairment. Comparative study of temporal resolution test results in young adults
Conclusion: there is influence of gender on test results Random Gap Detection Test and Gaps In Noise, with best male performance. The ear and gender criteria did not influence the outcome of the Gaps In Noise gap detection test. The comparison between of both tests (Random Gap Detection Test and Gaps In Noise) demonstrated a better performance in Gaps In Noise test, with the perception of gap in smaller time intervals. Auditory and proprioceptive vocal symptoms in patients with dysphonia pre- and post- group therapy
Conclusion: there was a reduction in total and proprioceptive vocal symptoms reported by patients, comparing pre- and post- therapy. There was a connection between females and diagnoses of mass lesions in the membranous portion of the vocal folds and total, proprioceptive, and auditory symptoms post- voice therapy. The effect of the neuromuscular electrical stimulation on the suprahyoid muscle activity during swallowing in subjects with dysphagia
Conclusion: the use of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation on the parameters and methodolo gy used did not prove efficient in promoting greater contraction of the suprahyoid muscles during the swallowing, in post-stroke individuals with oropharyngeal dysphagia.
