Yak milk delivers 777 mg BCFA compared to 158 mg per cup of whole U.S. dairy milk. QTP herders known to consume up to 2 kg of yak yogurt take in an estimated 3,500-5,000 mg BCFA per day. Temperature and time-dependent effects of delayed blood processing on oxylipin concentrations in human plasma
CONCLUSIONThese findings suggest that certain plasma oxylipins can be measured with reasonable accuracy despite delayed processing for up to two hours when blood is stored on ice prior to centrifugation. 12-lipoxygenase- and platelet-derived oxylipins may be particularly sensitive to post-collection artifact with delayed processing at room temperature. Degenerative rotator cuff tears are associated with a low Omega-3 Index
Conclusions: Patients with full thickness degenerative rotator cuff tears had a significantly lower Omega-3 Index than controls without rotator cuff tendinopathy. Aging and FADS1 polymorphisms decrease the biosynthetic capacity of long-chain PUFAs: A human trial using [U-13C]linoleic acid
This study examined the effects of aging and FADS polymorphisms on LCPUFA biosynthetic capacity via direct quantification using [U-13C]linoleic acid.
