The Effects of Botulinum Toxin Injections on Plantar Flexor Spasticity in Different Phases After Stroke: A Secondary Analysis From a Double-Blind, Randomized Trial
There are no guidelines on the ideal time to inject botulinum toxin type A (BT-A) for lower leg spasticity in stroke patients. An early injection may produce unwanted weakness, interfering with gait recovery. (Source: PM and R)

Effect on Passive Range of Motion and Functional Correlates After  a Long-Term Lower Limb Self-Stretch Program in Patients With Chronic Spastic Paresis
In current health care systems, long-duration stretching, performed daily, cannot be obtained through prescriptions of physical therapy. In addition, the short-term efficacy of the various stretching techniques is disputed, and their long-term effects remain undocumented. (Source: PM and R)

Neural Foraminal Lesions: An Imaging Overview
The neural foramina allow passage of spinal nerves, arteries, veins, and lymphatics from the spinal canal to the periphery [1,2] and are formed by various surrounding osseous and nonosseous structures. The anterior border is made up of the posterior aspect of adjacent vertebral bodies, the intervertebral disk, and the posterior longitudinal ligament. The superior and inferior borders of the foramen are formed by the vertebral notches of the superior and inferior vertebral pedicles. The facet, or zygapophyseal, joints form the posterior border [1,2]. (Source: PM and R)

Instrumental Variables: Uses and Limitations
Observational studies are limited by the issue of confounding. For example, light-to-moderate drinkers tend to have lower risk of cardiovascular disease than nondrinkers. This association could be due to a causal effect of alcohol on the body, or it could be due to other  attributes of light-to-moderate drinkers, such as high socioeconomic status or the ability to practice moderation across a range of behaviors. Statistical adjustment only imperfectly addresses confounding [1]: Confounders such as socioeconomic status may be crudely measured, resulting in residual confounding; plus, some confounders—such as intangible a...
