Dairy products and chronic kidney disease: protective or harmful? asystematic review of prospective cohort studies
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is defined as a progressive decline in kidney function and includes several stages ranging from simple kidney damage to severe kidney failure [1]. It is a public health concern affecting 11% to 13% of the global population [2]. Progression of the disease can lead to several complications, such as anemia, dyslipidemia, hyperphosphatemia, and hyperparathyroidism. Such complications put CKD patients at high risk for cardiovascular (CV) events [3]. Lifestyle modification, particularly dietary changes, is proposed as an effective strategy to prevent or delay the progressive decline in kidney functio...

Television advertising of food during children's programming in Nepal
• In Nepal, 57 hours of children's television programming were recorded.• 1,203 food commercials were analyzed for nutrient content and marketing appeals.• 70% of commercials advertised foods had high saturated fat, sugar, and/or sodium.• Every commercial featured a children-directed appeal (e.g., animated effects). Dairy products and chronic kidney disease: protective or harmful? a systematic review of prospective cohort studies
• Dietary protein is restricted in individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD).• Quality of dietary protein may be linked with renal function in healthy population.• Not all food sources of animal proteins are probably harmful for kidney function.• Dairy products are rich sources of bioact ive peptides and fatty acids.• Dairy products may reduce risk of incident CKD in the general population. Sleep duration (24-hour) is associated with birth weight in nulliparous but not in multiparous women.
• 24-hour sleep duration decreased over pregnancy;• Parity status alters the association between sleep duration and birth weight;• Nulliparous women with greater decreases in sleep delivered newborns with lower BW. (Source: Nutrition)

Caffeic acid ameliorates hepatic steatosis and reduces ER stress in high fat diet –induced obese mice by regulating autophagy
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of liver disorders [1], and it is related to insulin resistance, obesity, and metabolic syndrome [2]. Recent increases in the prevalence of obesity and diabetes have contributed to rapid increase in NAFLD globally. NAFLD has become a major public health problem because of its associated hepatic and extrahepatic morbidity and mortality [3]. Thus the control of fat accumulation in the liver is an important way to prevent or treat NAFLD. (Source: Nutrition)

Controlling nutritional status score for predicting 3-mo functional outcome in acute ischemic stroke
Malnutrition has been reported to be an independent risk factor for morbidity and mortality in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) [1 –3]. The prevalence of malnutrition after AIS has been reported to range from 8% to 34% [3]. In addition, malnourished patients, at admission, had a higher frequency of pneumonia, other infections, gastrointestinal bleeding, and bedsores than nourished patients [1,3]. Nutritional management is the refore a non-pharmacologic approach toward improving patient outcomes. (Source: Nutrition)

Controlling nutritional status score for predicting 3-month functional outcome in acute ischemic stroke
• The indicator of malnutrition for acute ischemic stroke has not been established.• Prognostic value of the CONUT score has been shown in patients with malignant tumors.• The CONUT score was significantly associated with poor 3-month outcomes in AIS.• The CONUT score could be a useful progn ostic marker in acute ischemic stroke.
