Myoblots: dystrophin quantification by in ‐cell western assay for a streamlined development of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) treatments
ConclusionsWe expect that this new tool to quantify muscle proteins in DMD and other muscle disorders will aid in their diagnosis and in the development of new therapies. (Source: Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology)

Low FoxG1 and high Olig ‐2 labelling indices define a prognostically favourable subset in isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)‐mutant gliomas
ConclusionsWhile the combined FoxG1/Olig‐2 profile may discriminate H3F3A K27‐ and G34‐mutant tumours and define a prognostically favourable subset in IDH‐mutant gliomas, our data show that labelling indices of these transcription factors overlap with adult IDH‐mutant and wild‐type tumour classes. Review: Neuropathology and behavioural features of transgenic murine models of Alzheimer's disease
Our understanding of the underlying biology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been steadily progressing; however, this is yet to translate into a successful treatment in humans. The use of transgenic mouse models has helped to develop our understanding of AD, not only in terms of disease pathology, but also with the associated cognitive impairments typical of AD. Plaques and neurofibrillary tangles are often among the last pathological changes in AD mouse models, after neuronal loss and gliosis. There is a general consensus that successful treatments need to be applied before the onset of these pathologies and associated cog...

Inflammatory pathology markers (activated microglia and reactive astrocytes) in early and late onset Alzheimer disease: a post ‐mortem study
ConclusionsOverall, we found that the neuroinflammatory pathological markers in late stage AD human tissue to have a similar pattern in both EOAD and LOAD, though the severity of the pathological markers in the younger group was higher. Understanding the age effect in AD will be important when testing modifying agents that act on the neuroinflammation. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
