Identification of an immune-related key gene, PPARGC1A, in the development of Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma: in silico study and in vitro evaluation.
CONCLUSIONS: An immune-related gene, PPARGC1A, was filtered out as the key gene that might play critical roles in the initiation and progression of ATC. It might affect the prognosis by inhibiting immune cell infiltrations. Future experimental studies are needed to confirm the results.

Lights and darks of neuroendocrine tumors of the appendix.
CONCLUSIONS: There are some persisting "grey areas" with regard to the characterization and the clinical management of neuroendocrine tumors of the appendix. An increasing awareness of the biological and clinical aspects of this disease and new, ideally prospective, focused studies might help and clarify some relevant issues that are not fully elucidated yet and could increase the solidity of the guidance for the management and the follow-up of the patients.

Nutrition knowledge is associated with greater weight loss in obese patients following a multidisciplinary rehabilitaiton program.
CONCLUSIONS: Weight-management programs should include a strong component of nutrition education to alleviate knowledge inequalities and promote more effective weight loss and control. The MQ may be a useful tool to verify the nutritional education carried out during the rehabilitation of obese subjects.

The osteopontin expression and microvascular density in thyroid cancer, comparison of CT and ultrasound in diagnosis of thyroid cancer and correlations of CT features and thyroid cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: The levels of osteopontin and microvascular density were increased in thyroid cancer. CT examination may be of higher diagnostic value in diagnosis of thyroid cancer compared with ultrasound. Irregular shape, unclear boundary, calcified foci and uneven density/echo were independent risk factors for the CT imaging diagnosis of thyroid cancer.
