Effect of serum antioxidant levels on sperm function in infertile male
In this study to try to evaluate the role of serum total antioxidant capacity, uric acid, glutathione, total thiols, ferritin, albumin and malodialdehyde in male infertility. 66 men included in this study 40 were infertile and 26 were healthy fertile. Results showed a significant decrease in sperm progressive motility and a significant increase in sperm tail abnormality, also there were a significant decrease in serum total antioxidant capacity, uric acid and albumin in infertile group. Because of lack of the intracellular antioxidant enzymes sperm cannot protect plasma membrane that surrounds the tail, the protection...

AliAbstractPlacenta percreta is defined as abnormal infiltration of placental tissue through the uterine wall with invasion into nearby organs such as bladder or rectum. When placenta precreta is complicated by bladder invasion, mortality rates have been projected as high as 9.5% for the mother and 24% for the fetus. Here we reported a case of 31-year-old female patient G4 P3, pregnant 36 weeks & 4 days, previous 2 cesarean sections with placenta pe...

Does sublingual misoprostol reduce pain and facilitate IUD insertion in women with no previous vaginal delivery? A randomized controlled trial
ConclusionAlthough misoprostol is used in cervical ripening in labour induction and medical evacuation of missed abortion, its use to facilitate IUD insertion in women with tight cervix or in whom vaginal delivery was not experienced, has no role in pain reduction or increase the ease of IUD insertion. Short abstinence: A potential strategy for the improvement of sperm quality
ConclusionThe data from this most comprehensive study of its kind challenges the generally accepted guidelines of the prolonged abstinence periods since the results show that 4 h of sexual abstinence yielded significantly better sperm samples from a functional point of view. Although this study was performed on normozoospermic men, future studies with infertile men might yield similar findings that could lead to employing short abstinence as a strategy to improve the outcome of ART and fertility preservation.
