Serum alanine aminotransferase levels are closely associated with metabolic disturbances in apparently healthy young adolescents independent of obesity.
Conclusion: Screening for ALT levels in adolescents may help to differentiate those at risk of metabolic abnormalities and thus prevent disease progression at an early age.

Change of Coronary Artery Indices according to Coronary Dominance Pattern in Early Childhood.
Conclusion: coronary artery indices showed significant difference according to coronary dominance pattern in early childhood. It is possible to indirectly determine the coronary dominance pattern by coronary artery indices in children using echocardiography. The accuracy of CAL diagnosis can be improved by taking coronary dominance into account.

Risk factors for the Occurrence and Persistence of Coronary Aneurysm in Kawasaki Disease.
Conclusion: This data showed early and late follow up of coronary aneurysm in our unit. Further studies are needed to determine the mechanisms involved in the disappearance of coronary aneurysm and related factors.

Scabies mimicking graft versus host disease in a hematopoietic cell transplant recipient.
We report the first Korean case of scabies in a hematopoietic cell transplant recipient, initially suspected for skin graft versus host disease (GVHD). A T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia patient underwent a sibling matched allogeneic HCT and developed pruritus after cell engraftment. Treatment for GVHD did not improve the symptoms. He was diagnosed with scabies after 30 days of symptom onset.

High antistreptolysin O titer is associated with coronary artery lesions in patients with Kawasaki disease.
Conclusion: It is not certain whether acute streptococcal infection may cause KD, but this study revealed that KD with high ASO titers showed higher rates of severe clinical course. It may be helpful to analyze concurrent streptococcal infection in patients with a severe clinical course.

Reninoma: a rare cause of curable hypertension.
We report a case of reninoma in a female adolescent with a typical clinical presentation, in whom surgical removal of the tumor completely cured hypertension. Iron status in small for gestational age and appropriate for gestational age infants at birth.
Conclusion: SGA infants have lower ferritin and total body iron stores compared with AGA infants. SGA infants affected by maternal hypertension who are born at late preterm have an additional risk for an inadequate iron store. Iron deficiency should be monitored in these infants during follow-up.

Changes of Bax, Bcl-2, chemokine receptor-2, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, and transforming growth factor β1 genes in the left ventricle of spontaneously hypertensive rat after losartan treatment.

Association between vitamin D level at birth and respiratory morbidities in very-low-birth-weight infants.
Conclusion: The results show that 79.8% of preterm infants in this study had vitamin D deficiency at birth. Low vitamin D status was associated with respiratory morbidities, but the exact cause is unknown. Additional studies on the association between vitamin D level and neonatal morbidities are required.

The Change of QRS duration after Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Patients with Repaired Tetralogy of Fallot and Pulmonary Regurgitation.
Conclusions: CTR and QRS duration tend to reduce after PVR. However, the absence of a reduction in QRS duration < 180 ms after PVR may be occurred, especially in patients with RVOT hypokinesis. These may provide additional clinical information reflecting changes in RV volume and/or pressure.

Clinical and molecular characterization of Korean children with infantile and late-onset Pompe disease: 10 years of experience with enzyme replacement therapy at a single center.
Conclusion: Early identification of PD is very important, as ERT is effective for treatment. Patients with IOPD should be considered as candidates for clinical trials of new drugs in the future, as this study indicates the effectiveness of ERT in IOPD.
