RbxWO3/Ag3VO4 nanocomposites as efficient full-spectrum (UV, visible, and near-infrared) photocatalysis
In this study, nanostructured RbxWO3/Ag3VO4 nanocomposites with improved photocatalytic performance for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under UV–visible (UV–vis) and NIR irradiation were successfully prepared via a chemical precipitation method. The resulting RbxWO3/Ag3VO4 nanocomposites exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity for the degradation of MB compared with RbxWO3 and Ag3VO4 under full-spectrum exposure. Electronic/atomic level fundamental theoretical evaluations combined with electrochemical/surface examinations of Tamarindus indiaca aqueous extract as a new green inhibitor for mild steel in acidic solution (HCl 1 M)
Conclusions derived from different isotherms demonstrated that following Langmuir isotherm a mono inhibitive layer of Tamarindus indiaca extract molecules covered the iron substance. Molecular simulations strongly affirmed the preference of Tamarindus indiaca extract molecules for adsorption on the MS substrate. The DFT explorations highlighted that the aromatic rings and oxygen heteroatoms behaved as influential local sites for molecular adsorption. In this study, quaternary ammonium functionalized-silica gel was synthesized for nitrate removal using dimethyl dodecyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl] ammonium chloride (DMDAC) as a quaternary ammonium silane coupling agent, which was grafted to silica gel to obtain the DMDAC-silica gel. Adsorptive removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solutions using a novel macroporous bead adsorbent based on poly(vinyl alcohol)/sodium alginate/KMnO4 modified biochar
In this study, a novel adsorbent was synthesized through the entrapment of KMnO4 modified biochar (MB) in poly(vinyl alcohol)/sodium alginate hydrogel bead (PSMB) and then tested to determine its capacity for removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solutions. The maximum Cu(II) adsorption capacity estimated with Langmuir isotherm modeling was 87.07 mg/g of PSMB, which was higher than that of previously reported adsorbents.
