Conclusion Upper airway granulations or stenosis significantly augment the risk of REF in children; however, these could be diagnosed early by FB, guiding the therapeutic protocol in acute cases. Thus, anatomical problems of upper airways should be considered in intubated children with EF, and FB is a useful tool for the early diagnosis and management. Myocardial injury was associated with neurological sequelae of acute carbon monoxide poisoning in Taiwan
Conclusion The pattern of CO poisoning had changed markedly during the study period, with a significant increase in both the numbers of intentional and overall CO poisoning. Moreover, intentional CO poisoning was associated with a higher risk of neurological sequelae, which was mediated by various indicators of poisoning severity such as myocardial injury and GCS less than 9. Protective effect of calcitriol on podocytes in spontaneously hypertensive rat
Conclusion The present results indicated that there was injury of podocytes in hypertensive nephropathy, which can be ameliorated by calcitriol in SHR, but there was no significant anti-hypertensive effect. The prognostic value of gray –white matter ratio on brain computed tomography in adult comatose cardiac arrest survivors
Conclusion Low GWRs which were obtained from brain CT scans in comatose CA patients after restoration of spontaneous circulation were associated with poor neurological outcomes. Analysis of whole genome-wide methylation and gene expression profiles in visceral omental adipose tissue of pregnancies with gestational diabetes mellitus
Conclusion We found that antigen processing and presentation pathway and immune-related genes were closely associated with gestational diabetes mellitus in the visceral omental adipose tissue of Chinese pregnant women, based on the integration analysis of expression and methylation profiles. Anti-pandemic influenza A (H1N1) virus potential of catechin and gallic acid
Conclusion The present study demonstrates that catechin might be a safe reagent for long-term use to prevent influenza A (H1N1) virus infection; whereas gallic acid might be a sensitive reagent to inhibit influenza virus infection.
