Expanding Couples-Based HIV Testing and Counseling in the United States: Findings from a Nationwide, Online Survey of Partnered Adults
Couples-based HIV testing and counseling (CHTC) is currently available only for gay male couples in the United States, but other types of couples could benefit from this service. Our cross-sectional, online study collected data from 536 partnered adults to assess interest in using CHTC and associated factors. Adjusted odds ratios were calculated with ordinal logistic regression to analyze factors associated with greater interest in using CHTC. Most participants were female, White, non-Hispanic, and/or students who were dating exclusively and sexually active. (Source: Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care)

Factors Associated with Sleep Quality in HIV
The purpose of our research was to (a) identify sleep quality complications experienced by patients living with HIV infection and treated with antiretroviral therapy (ART), and (b) explore factors associated with sleep quality complications. From March to August in 2013, a cross-sectional study was conducted at HIV-designated hospitals in Harbin of Heilongjiang Province, China. Participants completed a questionnaire using the Spiegel scale to assess sleep quality. 32.1% of patients were negatively affected by sleep disturbances. Adherence in ART: A Comment on Pi ña et al. (2017)
The article by Pi ña and colleagues (2017) brings much needed attention to the hitherto neglected public health problem of poor adherence to antiretroviral treatment (ART) among marginalized and vulnerable sexual minorities (men who have sex with men, transgender). The authors rightly recommended the urgent need to develop scalable evidence-based interventions for improving health outcomes in these groups. However, there is a methodological concern with regard to the assessment of adherence in this study, which can be clarified by the author and perhaps addressed in future research. “Give what the people want”: A situational analysis of condom distribution and a feasibility study of user-friendly condoms in Cape Town, South Africa
Condom use has remained low in South Africa despite efforts by the government to make condoms accessible to all. We assessed condom availability, procurement/distribution, and education practices, and explored perceptions of and interest in an expanded array of condom options, including fitted male condoms in Cape Town, South Africa. We conducted 11 key informant interviews with staff members from 2 sexual health organizations and 4 state-owned clinics. Key informants (a) were interested in their organizations offering an expanded variety of male condom options including different sizes, colors, and flavors; and (b) substa...
