Unraveling the RV Ejection Doppler Envelope: Insight Into Pulmonary Artery Hemodynamics and Disease Severity
Conclusions
In PAH, the notched profile of RVOT Doppler flow velocity envelope appears to integrate indicators of pulmonary vascular load and RV function and serves as a marker for adverse outcomes. (Source: Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging)

Left Atrial Function Dynamics During Exercise in Heart Failure: Pathophysiological Implications on the Right Heart and Exercise Ventilation Inefficiency
Conclusions
In heart failure, an impaired LA-strain response is a key hemodynamic trigger for RV-to-PC uncoupling and exercise ventilation inefficiency with some overlap between HFpEF and HFrEF phenotypes. Reversibility of LA dynamics seems to be an unmet target of specific therapeutic interventions. (Source: Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging)

RV Myocardial Strain During Pre-Load Augmentation Is Associated With Exercise Capacity in Patients With Chronic HF
Conclusions
RV strain during pre-load augmentation correlated independently to peak VO2 and was a powerful predictor in identifying patients with severely reduced exercise capacity. (Source: Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging)

The Prevalence, Correlates, and Impact on Cardiac Mortality of Right Ventricular Dysfunction in Nonischemic Cardiomyopathy
Conclusions
CMR assessment of RVEF provides important prognostic information independent of established risk factors and LVEF in heart failure patients with nonischemic cardiomyopathy. Right ventricular dysfunction is strongly associated with both indices of intrinsic myocardial contractility and increased afterload from pulmonary vascular dysfunction. RV Contractile Function and its Coupling to Pulmonary Circulation in Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction: Stratification of Clinical Phenotypes and Outcomes
Conclusions
A thorough assessment of RV-PC coupling and RV contractile function stratify HFpEF phenotypes at different level of risk. These observations shift the interest toward therapeutic strategies that may benefit the right heart as primary unmet need in the complex pathophysiology of the HFpEF syndrome.
