Body size and risk of atrial fibrillation: a cohort study of 1.1 million young men
ConclusionsHigher height and weight are strongly associated with higher risk of atrial fibrillation. These associations are multiplicative and independent of each other and are summarized in a strong association of body surface area with risk of atrial fibrillation. The mechanisms remain unknown but may involve increased atrial volume load with larger body size. (Source: Journal of Internal Medicine)

Enhanced ventricular ‐arterial coupling during a 2‐year physical activity programme in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: a prospective substudy of the physical activity in rheumatoid arthritis 2010 trial
ConclusionThese results indicate that although differentially associated with physical capacity parameters, improved vascular stiffness and improved diastolic dysfunction are interrelated, and that an optimization of the ventricular‐arterial coupling may contribute to the beneficial effects of physical activity in patients with RA. Supplemental oxygen therapy does not affect the systemic inflammatory response to acute myocardial infarction
ConclusionsIn a randomized controlled setting of normoxemic patients with AMI, the use of supplemental oxygen did not have any significant impact on the early release of systemic inflammatory markers. (Source: Journal of Internal Medicine)

Chylomicronemia risk factors ranked by importance for the individual and community in 108 711 women and men
ConclusionsObesity and type 2 diabetes were the most important modifiable chylomicronemia risk factors in women and men, both for the individual and community. This could influence chylomicronemia prevention and help design randomized trials aimed at reducing triglycerides. (Source: Journal of Internal Medicine)
