Depression and anxiety symptoms during the transition to early adulthood for people with intellectual disabilities
ConclusionsInsight and maladaptive coping are potential targets in the treatment of anxiety and depression among YA with ID. Longitudinal intervention studies exploring the efficacy of such targeted programmes in reducing mental health symptoms and improving the transition to adulthood for these young people are recommended. Cri du Chat syndrome: Characteristics of 73 Brazilian patients
ConclusionsThe questionnaire was a pioneer initiative in the CdCS support group, and the answers used in this study can improve the health care assistance to these patients because they focus attention on the demands from a parental perspective. In addition, nearly half of the families stated that they did not remember information regarding recurrence risk, which reinforces the importance of genetic counselling follow‐up and the need for the expansion of genetic services in Brazil (Source: Journal of Intellectual Disability Research)

Lycra splinting garments for adults with intellectual disabilities who fall due to gait or balance issues: a feasibility study
ConclusionLycra splinting socks are likely to bring about positive outcomes for adults with IDs who fall due to gait/balance issues on an individual case by case basis over time, but further research is required to test this hypothesis under randomised controlled trial conditions. Potential benefits of more intrusive LSGs are outweighed by reported problems with usability and compliance. (Source: Journal of Intellectual Disability Research)

Embedding routine health checks for adults with intellectual disabilities in primary care: practice nurse perceptions
ConclusionWhile the trial found the intervention to be dominant over standard health care, the adjustments nurses made may not have maximised potential benefits to patients. Increasing training could further improve the benefits that health checks provide for people with IDs. (Source: Journal of Intellectual Disability Research)

Persistence of self ‐injury, aggression and property destruction in children and adults with tuberous sclerosis complex
ConclusionThese findings suggest that self‐injurious behaviours in individuals with TSC, together with aggressive and destructive behaviours, are highly persistent and would benefit from targeted intervention. Poor adaptive skills, overactivity/impulsivity and painful health conditions may differentiate those at most risk for persistent self‐injury or aggression.
