Conservative management of knee arthropathy in a patient with Klippel Trenaunay syndrome
We present the case of a patient with a diagnosis of KTS and severe knee arthropathy. A 34-year-old man with KTS was referred to our hospital with severe knee arthropathy, with the joint fixed in a 90 ° position. CT Angiography and MRI of the left leg showed important varicose development of the superficial venous system with intraarticular vessels. After discussion of the case by a multidisciplinary committee, the patient was enrolled on a physiotherapy program and had achieved significant impr ovements in movement and quality of life at 12-month follow-up. Treatment of KTS is primarily conservative and a multidisciplina...

Minilaparoscopic lumbar sympathectomy with 3 mm instruments for plantar hyperhidrosis
We describe a technique for ELS using minilaparocopic instruments, which we have used for our last 70 cases and has become our standard technique. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of this technique and its advantages compared to the conventional technique.

An alternative approach to treatment of inferior vena cava filter perforation
We report a case of inferior vena cava filter perforation immediately after filter implantation, recognized intraoperatively in a patient undergoing laparotomy for resection of locally advanced ovarian cancer. We describe an alternative approach with strut resection, less invasive than filter removal, enabling the device to be maintained and bleeding to be controlled.

Endovascular treatment of a teenager with nutcracker syndrome: a case report
We report the case of a 12-year-old boy presenting with severe hematuria for 12 hours, with no abnormal findings at a first evaluation, who progressed with severe anemia and urinary retention. Further investigation provided images suggestive of nutcracker syndrome, and endovascular stenting (smart control stent) followed by balloon dilatation was the treatment of choice. Hematuria ceased after the procedure, and the patient is still asymptomatic at 5-year follow-up. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Effectiveness and safety of structured exercise vs. no exercise for asymptomatic aortic aneurysm: systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract We conducted a systematic review to compare the effectiveness and safety of exercise versus no exercise for patients with asymptomatic aortic aneurysm. We followed the guidelines set out in the Cochrane systematic review handbook. We searched Medline, Embase, CENTRAL, LILACS, PeDRO, CINAHL, clinicaltrials.gov, ICTRP, and OpenGrey using the MeSH terms “ aortic aneurysm ” and “ exercise ” . 1189 references were identified. Five clinical trials were included. No exercise-related deaths or aortic ruptures occurred in these trials. Exercise did not reduce the aneurysm expansion rate at 12 weeks to 12 months (m...

WIfI classification: the Society for Vascular Surgery lower extremity threatened limb classification system, a literature review
The objective of this study is to collect together the main points about the WIfI classification that have been discussed in the scientific literature. Most of the studies conducted for validation of this classification system prove its association with factors related to limb salvage, such as amputation rates, amputation-free survival, prediction of reintervention, amputation, and stenosis (RAS) events, and wound healing. Remote ischemic conditioning enhances heart and brain antioxidant defense
Conclusions Remote ischemic conditioning temporarily enhan ces heart and brain antioxidant defenses in male Wistar rats.

Total reversal of internal carotid blood flow in a patient with severe stenosis of the brachiocephalic trunk

Endovascular treatment of portal hypertension and recurrent digestive hemorrhage secondary to arterioportal fistula syndrome: late complication of penetrating abdominal trauma
