Is the sum of positive neuroendocrine immunohistochemical stains useful for diagnosis of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) on biopsy specimen?
ConclusionsLCNEC is difficult to diagnose because neuroendocrine morphology frequently is absent in biopsy specimen. In NSCLC devoid of obvious morphological squamous or adenocarcinoma features, positive staining in ≥2 out of three neuroendocrine IHC stains support the diagnosis of LCNEC.This article is protected by copyright. HER2 protein overexpression in non ‐amplified ductal carcinoma in situ: quality issue or transcription mechanisms gone awry?
This study compares HER2 immunohistochemistry (IHC) and chromogenicin situ hybridization (CISH) between admixed synchronous in situ and invasive carcinomas exhibiting an equivocal 2+ HER2 IHC score in the invasive component. This article is protected by copyright. MUC5B, CA9 and CLDN18 are potential theranostic markers of gallbladder carcinoma
ConclusionsCLDN18 is a new metaplasia marker in gallbladder tissues and is conserved in roughly half of GBC cases. MUC5B and CA9 are highly conserved along GBC histological progression. The three markers are potential theranostic markers, in particular CA9 and CLDN18, for which there are already targeted therapies available. This article is protected by copyright. Somatic genetic alterations in synchronous and metachronous low ‐grade serous tumours and high‐grade carcinomas of the adnexa
ConclusionsOur results suggest that progression from SBT to HGSC may take place in a subset of cases, and that at least some of the rare HGSCs lackingTP53 mutations may be derived from a low ‐grade serous precursor. This article is protected by copyright. Does Evaluation of Tumour Budding in Diagnostic Biopsies have a Clinical Relevance? A Systematic Review
ConclusionsIn all studies, tumour budding was a valuable marker of tumour aggressiveness and it can be evaluated in technically satisfactory diagnostic biopsies. Thus, the assessment of tumour budding seems to identify the behaviour of cancer, and therefore to facilitate treatment planning. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Reactivity of CK 7 across the spectrum of renal cell carcinomas with clear cells
ConclusionsOur findings show that CK7 immunoreactivity in clear cell RCC is variable and the extent of staining depends on the grade and architectural growth patterns of the tumors. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Histopathology)
