Endoscopic treatment of odontogenic maxillary mucopyocele
Conclusion
Incidence of iatrogenic odontogenic maxillary sinusitis and mucopyocele is increasing because of wide use of odontogenic procedure violating Schneiderian membrane. Complete removal of the mucopyocele wall with wide drainage middle meatal antrostomy is crucial for treatment. Endoscopic surgery for maxillary odontogenic mucopyoceles is an effective treatment modality with a higher success result and without recurrence. Efficacy of collagen membrane fixation on final outcome of peri-implant osseous defect
Conclusion
In case of peri-implant bony defect with guided bone regeneration, it is recommended to use fixation pins/screws to fix collagen membranes. (Source: Egyptian Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)

Comparison between three methods for internal bone fixations in displaced mandibular angle fractures
The objective of this study was to compare between one miniplate, double miniplates and dynamic compression bone plate in fixation of displaced mandibular angle fractures.
Patients and methods
Twenty-one adult patients with displaced mandibular angle fracture were included in this study. The patients were divided randomly into three equal groups: group I was treated by superior miniplate, group II was treated by two miniplates fixation technique and group III was treated by inferior dynamic compression bone plate. Postoperative clinical, radiographic evaluation and quantitative measurements were performed to assess bone...

Efficacy of topical melatonin hormone on implant osseointegration
Conclusion
The present investigation demonstrated that a 6-month melatonin application significantly positively influenced implant stability and bone density around dental implants in all subjects. The exact mechanism of the melatonin on bone metabolism needs further histopathological and bone morphmetric studies in animals. (Source: Egyptian Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)

The impact of butorphanol in rat temporomandibular joint inflammation
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of butorphanol in formalin-induced temporomandibular joint (TMJ) inflammation in rats.
Materials and methods
A total of 30 adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups of 10 rats each – group 1, the saline control group: rats were subjected to TMJ injection of saline; group 2, the formalin control group: rats were subjected to TMJ injection of formalin and did not receive any treatment; group 3, the butorphanol-treated group: rats received TMJ injection of 0.4 mg/kg butorphanol 30 min after TMJ injection of formalin.
