ConclusionDifferences in the work‐to‐retirement transition process, based on pre‐retirement job, are evident. Understanding differences by job groupings may assist occupational therapists to understand individualised needs during this occupational transition and subsequent tailoring of interventions (both individual and group based) to enable engagement in meaningful occupation in the work‐to‐retirement occupational transition to effect active healthy ageing. The impact of undergraduate occupational therapy students ’ interpersonal skills on their practice education performance: A pilot study
ConclusionWhile predictive relationships were not found between occupational therapy students’ communication, co‐worker communication and information gathering skills, this preliminary evidence indicates that students’ interpersonal skills (including interaction management and empathetic supportiveness) were predictive of some notable SPEF‐R competencies (including Professional Behaviours, Self‐Management, Documentation, Service Provision and Service Evaluation). What is the current practice of therapists in the measurement of somatosensation in children with cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders?
ConclusionDespite there being recommendations of best practice for the assessment of specific domains of somatosensation in children with cerebral palsy, current practice does not yet mirror these recommendations. Additionally, therapists have low satisfaction and confidence with what they are currently using, highlighting the need for a comprehensive and standardised assessment of somatosensation for use in children with neurological disorders.
