Subacromial bone erosion due to suture-knots in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: A report of two cases
We report two cases of patients with symptomatic knot impingement. In both patients, bursal-side partial-thickness tear of the supraspinatus tendon had been repaired by a single-row technique using one suture anchor and two polyester sutures with a long-chain polyethylene core. Three-dimensional computed tomography and arthroscopy revealed bony erosion at the lateral side of the anterior half of the acromial undersurface in both patients. A non-invasive biomechanical device to quantify knee rotational laxity: Verification of the device in human cadaveric specimens
ConclusionsA new knee rotational laxity meter was proposed in this study. Its reliability was verified by showing high correlation among trials. It also showed good correlation to a gold standard of measurement. It might be used to document knee rotational laxity for various purposes, especially after ACL injury, after further validation of the device in human subjects. Comparison of changes in shoulder functions between biceps tenotomy and tenodesis in an animal model
ConclusionTransient functional alterations in temporal and spatial parameters are found after tenotomy and tenodesis in a rat model. A new method for tensioning of a chronic tibial bony avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament as a posteromedial bundle and augmentation by anterolateral bundle reconstruction in a bicruciate ligament injury: A case report
We report our experiences in handling a case of ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) complicated by chronic bony avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). Favourable results were obtained as a result of ACR reconstruction following a new method for tensioning of the chronic tibial bony avulsion of PCL as a postero-medial bundle and augmentation by PCL anterolateral bundle reconstruction. Favourable posterior stability could be restored through application of this new technique incorporating post-reconstruction PCL reinforcement. Quantifying anterior knee pain during specific activities after using the bone-patellar tendon-bone graft for arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction
ConclusionsKneeling was the most challenging activity in terms of creating considerable levels of anterior knee pain in patients who had undergone an ACL reconstruction using a BPTB graft. Other knee activities, however, did not create moderate or severe degrees of anterior knee pain. Validation of an inertial measurement unit to determine countermovement jump height
ConclusionEstimation of countermovement jump height using an IMU leads to the most accurate measurements applying the NDI-method. Countermovement jump estimated with an IMU can reliably evaluate functional performance in the lower extremities in young or in sports active patients after surgery or after rehabilitation. Countermovement jump with an IMU allows performing the test without a force plate and thus serves as an objective outcome measure in clinical practice. Smoothness of the knee joint movement during the stance phase in patients with severe knee osteoarthritis
