Impact of body mass index on the oncological outcomes of patients with upper and lower urinary tract cancers treated with radical surgery: A multi ‐institutional retrospective study
ConclusionsObesity was an independent predictor of BC patients requiring RC. Conversely, being underweight was associated with a favorable prognosis for BC patients. However, BMI was not an independent prognostic factor in patients with upper urinary tract cancer. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

High neutrophil ‐to‐lymphocyte ratio predicts poor prognosis in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy
ConclusionA high neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio at treatment initiation is a negative predictive marker for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

Cut ‐point for Ki‐67 proliferation index as a prognostic marker for glioblastoma
ConclusionThis study demonstrates a positive correlation between Ki‐67 index and overall survival in patients with GB. Percentage staining of Ki‐67 < 22% appears to predict for poorer survival in GB. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

MAML1 and TWIST1 co ‐overexpression promote invasion of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
ConclusionsSignificant correlation between MAML1 and TWIST1 in HNSCC was revealed. This study was the first report elucidating MAML1 clinical relevance in HNSCC. These new findings suggest an oncogenic role for concomitant expression of MAML1 and TWIST1 genes in HNSCC invasion and metastasis. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

Efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of subcutaneous azacitidine in Chinese patients with higher risk myelodysplastic syndromes: Results from a multicenter, single ‐arm, open‐label phase 2 study
ConclusionsAzacitidine was safe and effective in Chinese patients with HR‐MDS. Clinical outcomes were comparable to those for primarily Caucasian patients in the phase 3 AZA‐001 study. Cmax differences between Chinese and North American patients were not associated with differences in TEAE frequency or severity. No initial azacitidine dose adjustment is required for Chinese patients with HR‐MDS. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

Visibility of an iron ‐containing fiducial marker in magnetic resonance imaging for high‐precision external beam prostate radiotherapy
ConclusionAlthough both markers were well visualized and can be recommended clinically, the results suggest that GA has some subtle advantages for quantitative visualization that could prove useful in certain situations of stereotactic body radiotherapy and intensity‐modulated radiotherapy.
