Mental imagery for brain-computer interface control and communication in non-responsive individuals
ConclusionResults showed lack of effectiveness of the task to detect voluntary brain activity and thus detect consciousness or communicate with non-responsive individuals. The application must be modified to be sufficiently satisfying for the intended end-users and suggestions are made in this regard. (Source: Annals of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

Immunogenicity induced by botulinum toxin injections for limb spasticity: a systematic review
Conclusions. NAB prevalence is much lower after BoNT treatment for limb spasticity than cervical dystonia. Consensual criteria must be defined to diagnose non-response to BoNT injection. Because immunogenicity is not the most common cause of non-response to BoNT injection, NABs should be sought in individuals with SnR with no other cause explaining the treatment inefficacy. A test with 100% specificity is recommended. In cases for which immunogenicity is the most likely cause of non-response to BoNT injections, some biological arguments suggest trying another BoNT, but no clinical evidence supports this strategy. Reliability of single-day walking performance and physical activity measures using inertial sensors in children with cerebral palsy
Conclusions. Our IMU and algorithm setup appears to be a reliable tool to measure daily life gait parameters in children with CP when repeatedly measured on 2 school days. PA was also reliably assessed but when measuring the same school day some weeks apart. However, the high MDC95 values question whether the setup can be used as a responsive outcome measure of interventions. (Source: Annals of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

3-D lower extremity bone morphology in ambulant children with cerebral palsy and its relation to gait
Publication date: Available online 9 April 2019Source: Annals of Physical and Rehabilitation MedicineAuthor(s): Bailly Rodolphe, Mathieu Lempereur, Christelle Pons, Laetitia Houx, Matthias Thepaut, Bhushan Borotikar, Raphael Gross, Sylvain BrochardAbstractChanges in lower extremity bone morphology are potential mid- to long-term secondary consequences of cerebral palsy (CP), affecting activity. Little is known about the 3-D morphology of lower-extremity bones in children with CP and the association with gait deviations. The main aim of this study was to describe and compare 3-D lower-extremity bone morphology in ambulant c...

Sensitivity to change and minimal clinically important difference of the Locomotor Capabilities Index-5 in people with lower limb amputation undergoing prosthetic training
Conclusions: The LCI-5 showed a high ability to detect change over time (responsiveness). The 2 proposed values (MCID of 7 points and large improvement of 12 points), based on a mix of distribution- and anchor-based approaches, represent cutoffs that can accurately identify 2 different levels of true change (as perceived by the patient) in locomotor capability after prosthetic training. Cross-cultural adaptation and Rasch validation of the Slovene version of the Orthotics and Prosthetics Users' Survey (OPUS) Client Satisfaction with Device (CSD) in upper-limb prosthesis users
Conclusion. The metric properties of the Slovene version of CSD agree with previous studies. The present study confirms the validity of CSD for measuring patient satisfaction with an upper-limb device, enhances the confidence in this tool for assessing upper-limb prosthesis users, and contributes to further refining the technical quality of this measure. Transcultural adaptation and validation of a French version of the Prosthetic Limb Users Survey of Mobility 12-item Short-Form (PLUS-M/FC-12) in active amputees
Conclusions. The French version of the PLUS-M 12-item Short-Form has good to excellent psychometric properties, comparable to those of the original version. Its use could definitely be proposed for both clinical and research purposes, once its validation is completed by assessing other psychometric qualities, especially sensitivity to change. (Re)organisation of the somatosensory system after early brain lesion: a lateralization index fMRI study
Conclusion: High levels of activation in the contralesional hemisphere were associated with high levels of sensory impairment in individuals with unilateral cerebral palsy. The interhemispheric (re)organization of the somatosensory system may not effectively compensate for somatosensory impairment. (Source: Annals of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)
