AbstractIntroductionUreteral sections in penetrating trauma of the abdomen are rare.ObservationWe report a case of a young patient admitted for penetrating abdominal trauma following a wound by a sharp object, admitted to the surgical emergency department at CHU Ibn Ruchd Casablanca, with hemodynamic instability and evisceration. Outcome of retrograde flexible ureterorenoscopy and laser lithotripsy for treatment of multiple renal stones
ConclusionRIRS via F-URS and laser lithotripsy is a safe and effective treatment option with high success rate for patients with multiple renal stones of 11–30 mm stone burden. It is indicated when other stone treatment modalities contraindicated or have failed. However, for complex or challenging stones, staged procedures may be required. Bilateral spontaneous thrombosis of the pampiniform plexus; A rare etiology of acute scrotal pain: A case report and review of literature
ConclusionsAnatomical factors are probably responsible for almost exclusive involvement of the left side. However, coagulation abnormalities and retroperitoneal tumors or absence of inferior vena cava must be sought especially in cases of right side or bilateral thrombosis of the pampiniform plexus. The management of pampiniform plexus thrombosis remains non surgical based on symptomatic treatment with good clinical and radiological evolution. (Source: African Journal of Urology)

The role of 3-dimensional sonography and virtual sonographic cystscopy in detection of bladder tumors
ConclusionAdditional to lower costs and no radiation exposure, 3D sonography appears comparable to the use of CT scans and MRI in providing virtual cystoscopy in investigating bladder cancer. Virtual sonographic cystoscopy may therefore be a useful alternative for screening and follow up of tumors, particularly if conventional cystoscopy cannot be performed. However, 3D sonography cannot replace pathological staging, and there is still a need to further improve this technology for enhanced assessment of mucosal abnormalities. Two pelvises, one stone: A different approach for management of calculi in a duplex renal collecting system
We describe a patient with a duplex collecting system presenting with a renal calculus. Initial flexible ureteroscopy failed to reach the collecting system containing the stone due to inability to visualize an additional ureteric orifice. The patient then underwent percutaneous puncture of the stone containing moiety, followed by antegrade stent insertion. This allowed for guidewire-assisted passage of a ureteroscope into the duplex collecting system, where the calculi were identified and fragmented. (Source: African Journal of Urology)
