Considering 2nd adoption
We adopted a baby last year through the foster care system. Our sons biological parents are pregnant again. They asked us if we want to adopt the second one. I am 39 with cf. I work full time college professor and have my own fitness business. I am torn on the second child. I don't know how much harder is 2 vs 1 will be? We got our son at 6 months so he was sleeping 12 hours per night. Sleep is a big thing for me and getting sick. For those who have two can you share? I would be able to take maternity leave for six weeks and I am off from May to August. Sore torn??? (Source: Cystic Fibrosis Pregnancy Forum)

NSAIDs inhibit ovulation
I think this is worth posting in the Pregnancy forum, as people with CF are often put on a regimen of Ibuprofen. It was not one of the three NSAIDs tested, but it's perhaps relevant nonetheless, especially at the CF dose. And even for CFers not trying to conceive, this may help understand your cycle and it's relationship to your meds (as well as things like weight, stress, and infection). http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/846552 "The women were assigned to one of four treatment regimens: diclofenac 100 mg/day, naproxen 500 mg twice daily, etoricoxib 90 mg/day, or placebo.... 'All control patients on placebo ovul...

First time poster w/question about isci and semen
hi i have cf diagnosed at 6 and i got married 2 years ago and i had a semen analysis recently and it came back they found no sperm but that was the usual pale colour, sometimes though theres a lot more more and its like very cloudy, is it possible that the difference is that there is some sperm in this one? and maybe i should test again and hope for that kind? (Sorry to be so descriptive but really want to know) also we have thought about ivf but we don't like the idea of embryos being destroyed is there A) a way to only make enough for that one trial and not have any made to destroy? B) i heard about isci is this a viab...

medications while pregnant
Hey. I am 8 weeks pregnant and thankfully am feeling great. I'm a bit anxious about medication. I'm taking 500 mg of zitromax per day and am wondering Has anyone else taken zitromax throughout their pregnancy. My gp said it was fine and I trust her but just need reassurance. I am also taking vitamin d, adek, hypertonic saline. Any feedback would be really appreciated. (Source: Cystic Fibrosis Pregnancy Forum)

2nd pregnancy
Hello everyone. I hope to get a lot of replies to this. I am a proud parent of a two year non-cf little boy and I couldn't be happier. However I would love to have another baby. It took me almost two years of not being cautious to get pregnant and pregnancy was tough towards the end but I wasn't in the best health to begin with (80% lung functions and under weight only weigh 108) my question is did anyone have a harder time getting pregnant their second time or did they experience pretty much the same thing the second go around. I am currently thinking about having another child but kinda wanted to know if I should prepare...

Iui
I'd like to get some feedback from anyone that has gone through IUI with femara or injectables and had success. My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for over 3 years now. Not only is my CF an issue, but he also has mild male factor. We did 2 IUIs in 2013 that were unsuccessful and sought a 2nd opinion and at that time was told that IVF w/ICSI was the way to go. Well, turns out, unless I can find an IVF clinic that will do the retrieval in an OR, IVF will not be an option for us. Anesthesiologists from two clinics are not comfortable with placing me under the anesthesia. Now we are being told that IUI will...

UF Shands for IVF
Hello!! My husband and I just received news last week that the fertility clinic we were working with cannot help us achieve pregnancy. Their anesthesiologist is not comfortable with me having the procedure in their office due to them being an outpatient clinic. They suggested I check out USF (University of South Florida) - However, because I am a patient with the CF clinic at Shands UF, I decided to give them a call to see if they would set up a consult with me. My appointment is on March 11th. Is there anyone out there in Florida who has gone through Shands UF Womens Clinic Spring Hill? I'd love some feedback as my husba...

New Baby and speculation on CF
Good Morning, I have a few questions. My grandson has CF and he is 2 1/2. My daughter just had baby #2 and we have already started to worry and speculate about whether he will have CF also? What should we look for at this stage? He is 4 days old. I know weight, but we have no way to weigh right now till he goes to dr on Saturday. He eats great....she is breastfeeding. It's hard to tell from stool....it looks like what it should from a breastfeeding baby. We have licked him...LOL, but no salty taste. Would you necessarily taste the saltiness this soon? Any ideas would be appreciated. (Source: Cystic Fibrosis Pregnancy Forum)
