Having a child that is different / special needs / developmentally delayed / non-typical is challenging. Not so much because of the extra work required, but mostly because your heart aches for your child when they struggle more than most. No parent wants their child to struggle any more than they have to. Life is hard enough without having to deal with additional challenges. (Source: So Close)

My kind boy
If I had to pick only one word to use to describe Adam, it would be 'kind'. He is such a kind-hearted, kind-spirited child. He is my sweet, loving, kind boy. Is this all I deserve?
I am feeling a little battered. Today we received yet another 'challenging' diagnosis for one of my children. Between the three of them we have varying diagnoses of ADD, SPD, dyspraxia...I am beginning to wonder, is it me? Is it just us? All three kids?? Is it their crappy genetic inheritance that is to blame? I know I have varying forms of all of the above. Which makes me feel super guilty for passing it along to my children. (Source: So Close)

Sleeping in on our first day of school holidays
Today is the first day of school holidays. (Well actually, its the last day of school term but I never send my kids on the last day as school only last for 2 and a half hours and they play games and stuff. I am not a massive animal lover. I respect animals and I
believe that their protection is very important (I abhor cruelty to animals), but when I donate
money to various charities, I always choose the charity that supports people
(children/ old people / lifeline etc) first, before animals. I always choose the
