Children ’ s Cancer Association (CCA) resource directory
Children’s Cancer Association’s Kids’ Cancer Pages is the first-ever national resource directory on childhood cancer and was recognized by the National Cancer Institute as “the most comprehensive guide for families currently available.” Now in its fifth edition, this vital support tool is sent free of charge to every pediatric hospital in the country as well as a searchable PDF online. SAMHSA Evidence- Based Practices Resource Center
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This agency has a mission to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness in America. Recently, SAMHSA made their Evidence-Based Resource Center available. This is a tool that allows clinicians, policy-makers and others who work with substance abuse to search for evidence-based resources including toolkits, guidelines and protocols. State Health Indicator Reports Tool
State Health Facts is a project from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation that provides health information from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Their Custom State Reports database contains over 800 health indicators and allows users to select the indicators most important to their work and generate a custom report from selected states. Nurses and Enhanced Health Information Literacy
The American Academy of Nursing released its policy brief urging nurses to have an increased role in enhancing health literacy for patient populations.
