Management of Peroneal Tendon Complications

Peroneal tendon injuries are commonly seen in the foot and ankle clinic. These are often related to sporting injuries and twisting injuries of the ankle. These will often be seen in a younger, athletic population. They can take our patients out of their activities and can often be lingering. There are numerous different pathologies that fall within the category of peroneal tendon and lateral ankle injuries including tenosynovitis, tendinopathy, tendon tears, subluxation, or dislocation of the peroneal tendons and often even ankle instability.
