Conclusions

The circular sexual response cycle largely fit participants’ experiences; however, POP inhibits subjective arousal, which prevents responsive desire for many. Patients may need better support to cope with preoccupation with POP, indicating that addressing the psychosocial symptoms of POP should be prioritized.
