Mount Sinai boosts revenue in 2014, prepares expansion
Mount Sinai Medical Center reported greater revenue in the fourth quarter and throughout 2014, although profits took a dip.
The non-profit hospital earned $6.7 million on revenue of $135.6 million in the fourth quarter. That’s compared to earnings of $13.4 million on revenue of $129.4 million in the same period a year ago. Its expenses for salaries increased as some employees earned merit awards, in addition to higher expenses for malpractice coverage and insurance, and greater costs for supplies.
