Bouncing off Each Other: Experiencing Interprofessional Collaboration Through Simulation

Effective communication and collaboration in interprofessional healthcare teams contributes to improved patient outcomes and quality care (Wei,  Corbett, Ray,& Wei, 2020). In contrast, ineffective communication reduces patient satisfaction, increases morbidity and mortality (Gregory,  2020), and increases the risk of patient safety incidents (Burgener, 2020). Establishing, building, and sustaining a culture of interprofessional collaboration (IPC) is fundamental to improving healthcare quality, and safety.
