Hospital services hang in the balance as hundreds of workers remain unvaccinated

With just hours to go before a state-imposed deadline, hundreds of additional health care workers at the region ’s three largest hospital systems kept their jobs by opting in to Covid vaccinations. Kaleida Health reported Sunday night that 97% of patient-facing staff, such as nurses, physicians and aides had been vaccinated by the Sept. 27 deadline, with a systemwide rate of 94%.
