Providence offers $1,000 bonuses to workers as part of $220M investment

Recognizing a workforce that is stretched to the limit providing care to a surging number of Covid-19 patients, Providence announced Thursday it would invest $220 million in bonuses systemwide for recruitment and retention. The Renton-based health system, one of the largest in the country, said the investment is geared to rapidly filling some 17,000 openings across its system and to showing gratitude to caregivers.
