Implementation of a Frailty Assessment and Targeted Care Interventions and Association with Reduced Postoperative Complications in Elderly Surgical Patients
A reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance framework implementation resulted in most elderly surgical patients being screened with a frailty assessment and receiving targeted frailty intervention. Despite challenges with assessment uptake and nursing intervention, implementation was associated with a decrease in complication.
