Adding Insult to Injury: Levator Ani Avulsion in Women With Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries

Conclusions In women with obstetric anal sphincter injuries, the risk of levator ani avulsion is almost 6 times higher after forceps-assisted vaginal delivery as compared with spontaneous vaginal delivery.
