Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) remains the most common adult cardiac operation performed, with more than 150,000 isolated CABGs performed in 2018, per the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) 2019 Annual Report.1 The survival impact and robustness of grafting the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to the left anterior descending (LAD) has been well established and is considered a Class 1 indication and the standard of care.2,3 However, for patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD), there is much debate over the best approach for additional bypass conduits.
