The consumers are caught in a double whammy at this point in time, says Dr. SK Ghosh, Group Chief Economic Adviser, SBI

On the one hand, people have to spend on discretionary products like health but on the other hand because of the increase in the oil prices a large part of their consumption expenditure is also getting squeezed and that is also having an impact on the other discretionary components in the overall expenditure budget.
