Use of a Cluster of Outcome Measures to Predict Discharge Disposition For Stroke Patients in Inpatient Rehabilitation

Determining the appropriate discharge recommendation after a stroke is a challenging and multifactorial task. Historically, therapists relied on a single measure to track progress and function. Establishing a more objective measure via a cluster of outcomes can potentially accelerate decision making and influence discharge recommendations. Based on current evidence, the following measures were selected for this cluster: Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke (PASS), the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), and the 10 Meter Walk Test (10MWT).
