NEC nominates Christina McAnea in general secretary election

UNISON’s NEC today voted to nominate Christina McAnea as their chosen candidate in the forthcoming general secretary election. The union’s current general secretary, Dave Prentis, retires from the post on 31 December 2020. Christina has worked for UNISON for over 25 years and is currently the union’s assistant general secretary for bargaining, negotiations and equality. Voting in the election is open to all eligible UNISON members and will take place from 28 October until 27 November. More information on the general secretary 2020 election is available online.
