Accelerated Orthodontic Tooth Movement: Recommendations for Clinical Practice

The goal of this paper is to assess the current scientific literature on accelerated tooth movement in orthodontics and present an evidence-based guide for clinical practice. The most popular procedures currently used for accelerating tooth movement are reviewed and an evaluation of the treatment outcome is presented. The potential risks and benefits of these procedures are discussed. This information will allow clinicians to choose among protocols that are available based on individual patient needs.
