Toward an Integrated Psychoanalytic Theory: Foundation in a Revitalized Ego Psychology

AbstractI propose that a revised and expanded ego psychology constitutes the strongest foundation for a unified psychoanalytic theory that is capable of integrating different psychoanalytic schools and also capable of assimilating and integrating relevant findings from non-psychoanalytic disciplines.
