Abstract
In 2020, the American Diabetes Association released an update to their standards of care guideline, which included special considerations for older adults. Care of older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus needs to be individualized and incorporate patient preferences. Guideline updates provide specific goals for older adults based on their ability to perform activities of daily living, comorbidities, and health prognosis.
