Stay-at-home order will start Friday at midnight, Walz says; restaurants closed until May 1

Gov. Tim Walz announced a stay-at-home order on Wednesday that will take effect Friday at midnight. That order, which says Minnesotans must refrain from leaving their homes, will continue until April 10 to stop the spread of the novel cornavirus that causes COVID-19. Bars, restaurants and other businesses where large numbers of people gather will remain closed until May 1.
