Screening for Hepatitis B Virus Infection in Pregnant Women: US Preventive Services Task Force Reaffirmation Recommendation Statement

(Abstracted from JAMA 2019;322(4):349–354) In 2009, the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommended that pregnant women be screened for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It cited strong evidence that the benefit of screening substantially outweighed the harm.
