Why a rural Triad health system is planning to replace itself
Randolph Health this week will make its final attempt to ensure its hospital doors remain open.
If for any reason the last-ditch effort falls short, the state's largest remaining independent health system will be forced to close down, leaving 1,100 health care workers unemployed and the county’s 140,000-plus residents without a local hospital to turn to in an emergency.
