Successful treatment with 1064 nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser on the pediatric onychomycosis: Report of a case

Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser has been reported to be clinically effective for treating onychomycosis. However, there was no report of Nd:YAG laser treatment for the pediatric onychomycosis. Herein, we report a case of Nd:YAG laser treatment in pediatric onychomycosis. An 11-year-old girl presented with palmopalntar keratoderma and dystrophic nails. Microscopic examination of nail scaling before treatment with 20% potassium hydroxide was positive for fungal hyphae. Nails with onychomycosis were treated by 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser and topical epinaconazole.
