Management of Achilles Tendon Rupture Complications.

Management of Achilles Tendon Rupture Complications. Instr Course Lect. 2018 Feb 15;67:275-282 Authors: Wang C, Parekh SG, Mithani SK Abstract The management of Achilles tendon rupture complications has always been a challenge. Rerupture, infection, wound problems, suture reaction, weakness as a result of Achilles tendon lengthening, sural nerve injury, and thrombosis are the most common complications in patients who undergo treatment for Achilles tendon rupture. Given the increasing incidence of Achilles tendon rupture, orthopaedic surgeons must understand the basic principles for the management of Achilles tendon rupture and the appropriate techniques to help reduce the rate of complications.
