Internal Fixation of Unstable Radial Head Fracture: A Comparison of Metallic and Biodegradable Implants
Radial head fractures are common injuries in sports or daily activity accounting for about one-third of all elbow fractures, with an estimated incidence of 2.5 to 2.9 per 10,000 people per year [1]. Radial head fractures are usually classified according to the original Mason classification: type I, fissure fractures or marginal sector fractures without displacement; type II, partial articular fractures with displacement; and type III, comminuted fractures involving the whole head of the radius [2,3].
