Centene to expand NY presence with WellCare buy
In a deal that affects nearly 300,000 New Yorkers, Centene Corp. has announced a $17.3 billion acquisition of WellCare Health Plans Inc.
The company today announced the merger, which will create the nation’s largest provider of government-sponsored healthcare programs with 22 million members across the country, including Medicaid, Medicare and the online health insurance marketplace.
