Resolution of epithelial ingrowth after combined photorefractive keratectomy and corneal cross-linking in a patient with post-LASIK ectasia

A 34-year-old male was referred to our Institute for evaluation of his left eye due to corneal ectasia ten years after bilateral LASIK. Three months prior to his referral, the patient had undergone flap lift for the management of interface fluid accumulation. Topography demonstrated post-LASIK corneal ectasia and slit-lamp examination revealed epithelial ingrowth in the stromal interface inferiorly. The patient underwent uneventful combined photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and corneal cross-linking (CXL) to stabilize the corneal ectasia and improve his functional vision.
