Physiological effects of cold ‐dry versus heated‐humidified partial amniotic carbon dioxide insufflation in sheep

ConclusionsCold ‐dry PACI caused fetal hypercapnia, acidosis, hypotension and fetal membrane inflammation in sheep raising potential concerns for use in humans. Heated‐humidified PACI partially mitigated these effects and may be a suitable alternative that reduces the risk of fetal acid base disturbances and fe tal membrane inflammation following complex fetoscopic surgery. This article is protected by copyright.
